Svyaztransneft's Oka regional branch announced in a press release issued on December 3, 2021 that the company has launched an upgraded optical fiber communication line (FOCL) Tekstilshchiki-Security Station in Moscow City and the Moscow region to facilitate operations. According to the press release, FOCL will provide various operations and technical communications for the Yaroslavl-Moscow oil pipeline in the Moscow region. As part of the company's technology upgrade plan, work to upgrade the technology and operational communications of the oil pipeline started in May, resulting in the installation of 7 branch lines during the project from the Tekstilshchiki-safety station FOCL between the safety station and the Moscow refinery. The company also added that it has laid about 5 kilometers of fiber optic cables underground and installed new equipment such as routers, switches, and batteries. Svyaztransneft also organized a network for high-speed communication channels for modern production management systems, automated process control systems, and pipeline transportation management systems. Seven monitoring stations on the Yaroslavl-Moscow oil trunk pipeline are connected to the Transneft Upper Volga pipeline telemetry system. The 12 CMSs of the oil trunk pipeline provide communication channels with a throughput of up to 1 Gbit/s and ring redundancy based on modern transmission equipment. According to the measures implemented, the company guarantees that it has organized reliable and high-quality process communication services and provided the necessary additional operational capabilities, including the provision of video surveillance, telephone and technical security equipment.
