Navy Day: Naval House opens an innovation pavilion-Pragativadi

New Delhi: The Innovation Pavilion was set up in the Navy Building on the occasion of Navy Day in 2021, and will be opened by Hon'ble Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh on Saturday.

The pavilion showcases how the Indian Navy cooperates in innovation and localization efforts, and cooperates with academia and industry. It is consistent with the theme of this year’s Navy Day "Indian Navy—Innovation for National Construction", and places greater emphasis on national construction while maintaining It focuses on its own self-reliance.

The innovation results displayed in the Innovation Pavilion are the internal efforts of the Indian Navy, in accordance with the mission Raksha Gyan Shakti's vision, and exhibited booths in four main areas.

The healthcare innovation booth showcased certain “game-changing” healthcare innovations, including those jointly developed with IIT and Mumbai, such as Aadyant ORS (O2 Recycling System) to improve the safety of intensive care units, and the use of nanotechnology for MRSA Bacterially effective disinfectants, artificial intelligence-based atomizers, and low-cost digital stethoscopes for telemedicine, especially suitable for rural/remote areas.

The booth that promotes technological development in collaboration with academia showcased dental domes, Navrakshak gowns, autonomous ships and quadcopters. This is the result of an agreement between the Indian Navy and Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) on the licensing of internally developed technologies for large-scale use Manufactured MSME.

The Engaging with Young India booth displayed products developed in cooperation between the Indian Navy and the National University of Forensic Sciences (NFSU). These include a limpet mine detection system, a caged drone for firefighting, an autonomous beach inspection and survey device (ABCD), and a portable UW diver delivery system, which is being handed over to NFSU for further improvement.

IN-STEP (Indian Navy Student Technology Participation Program) involved students from first-class educational institutions through online internship guidance, and demonstrated smart firefighting suits (Aide University) and underwater detection algorithms (IIT Jammu). In addition, the Corona Yoga game made by the 10-year-old son of a naval officer was also displayed and was awarded to PM Rashtriya Bal Puraskar on January 26.

The innovation of self-reliance and transcendence demonstrates the localization efforts of the Indian Navy to reduce import dependence and provide export potential.

These include tactical mobile fiber optic cables with dock enclosures, upper deck paint, autonomous modular inflatable targets (AMIT), remote embedded system support (RESS) and 30mm pre-shattered enclosures.
