Irvine, California, April 15, 2021/PRNewswire/ - L-com, the preferred manufacturer of the Infinite Electronics brand and wired and wireless connectivity products, today announced the launch of a new series of dense wavelength division multiplexing ( DWDM)) Mux, Demux and Mux/Demux products to cope with the growing metro and regional transmission, PON, GPON and FTTx applications.

L-com’s 20 new DWDM Mux and Demux products are composed of LGX boxes and 19" rack-mounted units, aiming to maximize fiber utilization by reducing the number of fibers from the central office/front end, and increase switches and routers Between bandwidth and other equipment without additional investment in fiber optic infrastructure.

The PDW1 series of LGX plug-in units have 4 and 8 channel options, 100 GHz spacing, LC connectors with UPC polishing, and fast channel and 1% optical power monitoring ports. The PDW3 model adopts a 19" rack mount design, saving space at 1U height. In addition to fast channels, these devices also provide two optical fibers, combined multiplexer/demultiplexer operation, with 20 channels, 100 GHz spacing, LC UPC Connectors and 1% monitor port These new DWDM multiplexer/demultiplexer products provide industry standard wavelength configurations and are designed for use in in-plant (ISP) applications.

"Our new passive DWDM multiplexer/multiplexer product lineup enables our customers to save money and valuable space by greatly reducing the number of fibers required to connect sites and equipment in the network. Using DWDM technology One of the big benefits is that it increases the bandwidth to allow multiple data streams to be sent simultaneously over a single fiber," said Paul Hospodar, product line manager.

L-com's new Passive DWDM Mux and Demux products are in stock and can be shipped on the same day.
