Fiber broadband builder CityFibre (CF) announced that their strategic partnership with Neos Networks is expanding to 9 other cities in the UK, which will allow both parties to make greater use of each other's fiber optic networks.

Currently, Neos operates a huge optical fiber network of more than 24,480 kilometers through 477 related access points (PoP) across the UK. By the end of this year, the network will reach 30,000 kilometers and will also have 90 or more data center. 800 PoPs (including 550 non-bundled exchanges). Many of these switches will provide 100Gbps high-capacity options and 10Gbps Ethernet connections as standard.

On the other hand, CF’s £4 billion project aims to cover 1 million UK locations (which has reached more than 650,000) with a gigabit fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) network by the end of 2021, and then 8 million locations are expected to be covered. By the end of 2025 (here), it will be "essentially completed" in 285 cities, towns and villages (about 30% of the UK). good news. Neos has been busy building their network to provide more capacity and flexibility.

CityFibre can use it as the core of FTTP and even transfer data between cities so that their customers do not need to interconnect with each CF FTTP PoP.
